Russell Beggs, who graduated from Highland Springs High School seventy-seven years ago and served in the United States Navy, was one of the 50 Veterans honored this morning at the Seven Pines Elementary Veterans Day program. Before serving in the Navy, he was a member of the Springers first football team. Beggs retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.
