The Refugee Project began in the Fall of 2016 when Godwin High School Art teacher, Dana Morris reached out to a local museum with a project proposal. The goal was to collaborate on a student art project in order to humanize the refugee crisis. With the help of Commonwealth Catholic Charities, fellow Godwin art teacher, Lindsey Hurlburt, and the Virginia Holocaust Museum, Morris’ idea was set into motion. The Refugee Project art exhibit will be on display in the Musuem’s Melvin Weinstein Art Gallery through August. The Virginia Holocaust Museum is open from 9am to 5pm on Monday through Friday and 11am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
